Downhill Masters, from developer THEM Corporation – a team partly made up of Civilization, Icarus, and Aion Online creatives – is swerving toward Android to deliver a unique mix of downhill bike racing action and day-to-day life management gameplay.
The game sees you hopping into the shoes of one of three oddball characters as they gradually make the shift from being passionate biking hobbyists to renowned stars. The races are kept fast and fluid, with tons of alternate routes and paths to shave off some valuable seconds from your sprint. And, if you do find yourself struggling, the constant equipment and skill unlocks can typically give you the edge over any pesky opponents.
Outside of the races, you’re also going to have to manage the life and career of your chosen character. There’s Devito, a charming chef and all-around powerhouse; Marie, a famed fashion designer with a knack for pulling off tricks; and then there’s Steve, your average, everyday accountant turned biking champion.
The World Grand Prix throws you into intense 1-on-1 races with 28 other champions, while Challenge Mode offers up 50 different tracks to mess around on alone or with up to 4 pals. And if you plan to play on-the-go, you needn’t worry about hitting your data limit as the game can be played entirely offline.
So, for all your downhill racing needs, Downhill Masters is now available for immediate download on the Play Store, with an iOS launch planned for later in the year.
